If you have had a falling out with a friend, find yourself at an impasse in your marital relationship, or are in conflict with someone at work, knowing how to communicate effectively can go a long way toward resolving the issue. For starters, this means letting go of the need to be right, defensiveness, criticism and blame. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn the art of empathic listening, heartfelt acknowledgment, and compassion for yourself and the other.
In addition to my private therapy practice, I have 10 years experience teaching communication skills in business settings in Manhattan as well as at The Center for Transformational Psychology at The New York Open Center, a holistic continuing education program for adults.
